May

If
you are interested in serving on the Betty Mitchell
Awards Nominating Committee in the future, please
contact the Steering Committee by email info@thebettymitchellawards. The
Nominating Committee is a group of 12 theatre
professionals who see each Eligible Production
in the Season and then select the Nominees in
each of the fifteen Award Categories (please
see The
Ground Rules for a
complete description). The Nominating Committee is
a diverse group of people. We look for six men and
six women from a variety of disciplines, including
actors, directors, designers, stage managers, educators,
playwrights, choreographers and administrators. We
also try to include a broad age range within the
members of the committee. The Nominating Committee
for the following Season is finalized annually by
June 1.
The
Steering Committee thanks everyone for their interest
in participating on the Nominating Committee; however
there are only 12 slots available and sometimes
the needs of the committee – in order to maintain
a strong diversity – are quite specific,
and therefore not everyone who expresses an interest
can be selected.
